I recently posted about different types of reviews and how most reviews, including negative ones, can be really useful. I’ve just published the sixth Mac Maguire novel, Two Dogs, and I’ve received my first review –
5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting and hoping…

I’m waiting and hoping that there will soon be a Book 7, 8, 9 and on. I have really liked this series and all of the stories in it. I do hope that someone spends some serious time editing any further books though. Hate when I have to stop and reread because of such poor editing. If you can see beyond the errors, I do recommend the Mac Maguire detective mysteries.
I was really happy about the 5 stars but I must admit that the comment about editing worried me as I’ve been trying to hone my editing skills ever since I started publishing my books some two and half years ago. Two Dogs was also reviewed by several readers before it was published. However I realise that all of my books are capable of being improved so I’d like to issue an open invitation to all my readers. If you spot any errors (especially plot holes) or if there’s something that you think could be done better then please contact me and let me know.
For US readers please note that you may find some of the spelling strange because I use UK English spelling throughout the books. If you find anything other than this then please fire off an email. I may not always agree but the very least you’ll get is a nice personal reply from me.

Please don’t worry about hurting my feelings, I regularly get my ego bruised by the group of readers who read my books first so I’m used to it. I know that I’m on a massive learning curve when it comes to writing and I’d like my books to be the very best they can be. So if you feel that you can help improve my books then I’m ready and waiting to listen.
